Hubby's birthday

Today is my husbands birthday which he does not share by himself. He and his twin sister shares Jan 14th together. LOL. His birthday did not start out well today.  We received a call early this morning from "my" twin sister, telling us that she was taking her husband into the ER. So, we both left and met her at the hospital.  My BIL is fine right now, but they are keeping him over night  for observation. Here is a picture of a quilt that I made for my husband's birthday last year.  My friend and I, while at the 2010 Paducah quilt show, found a nice priced jelly roll; Flag Day Farm from Moda, and decided to make both our husbands a quilt for their birthdays. We worked on them together on our sew days and had a lot of fun. We used the pattern; Twin Sisters that we found in the book;  Quilts Through the Seasons by Eleanor Burns.  It was fast, fun and accurate.

Saturday Sampler

I am starting my 8th year at one of my Saturday Sampler's club. Well, I call it a club because several of my friends have been going for almost as long as I have. We all sign up for the same class time, we all meet together at the quilt shop, show our blocks, shop, and get our new block for the following month. We then go for lunch. We laugh, share ideas and fellowship. I have a wonderful group of friends! I am very blessed:)
Here is the book our Saturday Sampler class is using: Quilt in a Day Pioneer Sampler by Eleanor Burns. I will post a picture of January block as soon as I finish it.

The Farmers Wife Sampler

Here are a few blocks I have made for The Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt. There are a total of 111 blocks, which I have completed thirty something. I love working with these 6 inch blocks! Our local quilt guild has; "sew days" and a few of us members get together and sew our little blocks together. We chat, eat and sew all day long! Well......sometimes, it seems like we chat, eat and sew very little, but overall, we do get alot done. My goal is to have all 111 blocks pieced, and hopefully the quilt top done by December 31, 2011. We will see!

I print patterns from BlockBase
I dream with EQ7

Electric Quilt

I love EQ7! I am a new user, and I am really having fun with it. I learn "something" new each time I use it. A few years back, I purchased EQ5, then upgraded to 6, but never had, or took the time to use it. I now have EQ7, and have time to use and learn the program. It is wonderful! I also use BlockBase and love it too. I have contacted EQ support by phone several times and have been extremely pleased with their patience and support. Thank You EQ:)

I finally did it!

Here it is, January 7th, 2011 and I FINALLY got my blog started.  This is my first blog, so I am sure there will be alot of changes along the way. I am looking forward to meeting new quilters. Thank you for visiting my blog.
